    Definition:
    Trademark registration is no longer viable. It may be due to the registrant's failure to file the required continued use affidavit under Section 8 of the Trademark Act, to a cancellation proceeding at the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board or to the outcome of a civil court action.

    WCT

    Definition:
    World Intellectual Property Organization Copyright Treaty (WCT): The WCT is an international treaty that was negotiated in 1996 to protect authors' copyrights on the Internet.

    Disclosure

    Definition:
    In return for a patent, the inventor gives as consideration a complete revelation (describes it) or disclosure of the invention for which protection is sought.

    Definition:
    IDC is the first phase of the publication process for a patent where the patent file is electronically captured.
